River, tour & something very exciting…

My latest single River has been out in the world for over a month! I want to thank each and every person who has listened to the song, added it to a playlist, shared it with a friend. So much goes into recording and releasing, and as an independent artist, your support means more than you know (extra points to you for taking the time to read this blog lol).

I wrote it with my bandmate Phil Spencer, kinda as a part two to a song we co-wrote five years ago, Ice Cream. It’s about accepting and embracing change, learning to go with the flow and relinquish control over the inevitable. “Roll with the river” is a mentality that has genuinely stuck with me ever since writing the song. It serves as a reminder to slow down a little in times when I feel completely overwhelmed by worry and my habit of catastrophising… I hope it can do the same for you. I’m soooo proud of this track, it was so fun to make and I can’t WAIT to sing it with you on tour next week.

That’s right…TOUR!!! Myself and my band are about to head out to three UK cities for some very special headline shows. It’s been a while since we’ve gotten to play together and put on a proper show for you so I am counting down the days. Getting to say hi in person and sing these songs straight to you (and maybe hear you singin em back?!) will always be such a core part of why I love making music. I can promise lots of new music as well as old, some gorgeous support acts I think you’ll love, special exclusive merch, and generally a folky, heartfelt, warm, fun time.

We play Hope & Anchor, London on the 12th Nov, The Victoria, Birmingham on the 13th and The Lanes, Bristol on the 15th. Grab tickets here. Can’t wait to see you!

Lastly, I have something exciting to tell you on Sunday. Like…soooo exciting. Keep a beady eye on my socials, or if you’re feeling impatient sign up to my mailing list and you might hear about it early…

Speak then,

JJ xxxxx
