New music and ramble
Hiya ! Just announced the My Love Has No End extended edition which features two new songs and I cannot waittt for you to hear them.
The new songs are called Stronger Man and Take. They were written and recorded around the same time as the rest of the EP, but felt seperate to me. The main EP carries such a strong thread of hope and optimism (your dog being an exception lol… although if you rly wanna get into it even that song has a deeper message that fear is a by-product of love and you should probably go for it anyway etc etc blah. blah - I talked in detail about all the tracks in my last blog post). I can’t say these songs hold that same positivity lol, they are however from the same chapter of life. And I’m proud of them. There’s an instrumental section at the end of Take that just perfectly closes the book. It sounds exactly like how it feels to say goodbye to this chapter.
We’ve been playing Stronger Man at shows and it’s been fun seeing people’s reactions. The song sort of started out unseriously, a tongue-in-cheek dig towards a very specific genre of men. The best way I can think to describe it is Jordan Stephens’ character Elliott from the show Feel Good. If you know you know. But I ended up loving the song because of it’s silliness I think. I’ve had that little guitar riff for YEARS and I’m glad the song came to be how it did.
Take is a very sad, tired moment. It’s about feeling like you’ve given all you have to give until there’s literally nothing left of yourself, and questioning whether this is always how it’s going to be in relationships. Wondering if you are in fact the problem. I guess you could say your love actually does need to have an end at some point haaha. Love fully always but don’t forget to leave a lil bit of that for yourself too.

Big thank you to AJ Stark for shooting what is my favourite cover art yet. AJ has kindly shot my artwork for years and I can always entrust him to capture the vision I have in my head. Taken on a hill at dusk in the Bath countryside. I like the symbolism of going from the romance of the orangey pink sky in the original cover to a colder, more eerie mood ooOOoo
